夏枯草 Ha Ku Chou & 

北子草 Pak Chee Chou

Herbal Drink

Weather is so hot, humid and especially it is Durian season.

Boiled these herbs (夏枯草 Ha Ku Chou & 北子草 Pak Chee Chou) 

to drink to cool down heatiness inside our body. 

After been blogging for more that 11 years, this post has Chinese characters,
thanks to my dearie friend, Yap Fong and Elly Chong.
For your information, I am a banana (Chinese face but don't understand Mandarin).

Note : My Mum told me that if  we have leg cramp frequently,
don't add so much on the 北子草 Pak Chee Chou
because maybe our body cannot take too cooling herb.

This herb is 夏枯草 Ha Ku Chou.

This herb is 北子草 Pak Chee Chou.

I bought the two herbs in one pack (110g) at RM2.50 at Chinese Medicine Shop

and divided it twice to boil. You get 2.5 to 2.0 liter per boiled.  

It is so cheap to boil ourself.  

Imagine the price we paid for, when we ordered from 

coffee shop, dessert shop or cafe especially when you added ice into your herbal drink.

  

1. Divide the herbs into two and keep the balance inside the bottom fridge.
2. Wash thoroughly and drain.
3. In a pot, add 2.5 liter of water and add washed herbs. 
4. Bring to boil 1 hour.  In between boiling, add extra water if the water reduced.
5. Add sugar to taste. 

As for us, we don't add sugar and the taste is still superb.
