Cheesy Corn Dog

Cheesy Corn Dog
Made this for tea time and my family loves it.
Crispy outside and cheesy inside.
A Corn Dog is a sausage coated in a thick layer of cornmeal batter on a stick.
Since I don't have cornmeal, I used flour to substitute.
Since Christmas and New Year will coming in a few more days, why not make it for
Christmas or New Year Party.
Sure your family, relatives and friends will love it.

6 Hot Dogs (Sausages)
8 slices of Cheese
8 Wooden Skewers (no need to soak with water)
1 cup Flour
1 tsp Salt (omit if your hot dogs and cheese are salted)
1 tsp Pepper
1/2 tbsp Baking Powder
3/4 cup Milk
1 Egg
Oil (for frying)

  1. Roll the cheese slice around the hot dog and push a wooden skewer inside.
  2. Place the cheese wrapped hot dogs seam side down.
  3. Freeze for 20 minutes.

  1. Mix the flour, salt, pepper, baking powder until well combined.
  2. Beat the egg with milk and pour into the dry ingredients.
  3. Mix well.
  4. Set aside.
  5. Pour some of the batter into a tall glass (it is easier to dip the hot dog).

  1. Take out the frozen hot dogs.  Dip it fully into the batter, lifting it out and let excess batter drip off.
  2. Carefully place the battered hot dog into the hot oil, turning it once in a while to fry evenly.
  3. Remove when golden brown and drain the oil with paper towel.

Serve with honey mustard or ketchup.
Crispy and cheesy, Yummy.
Yesterday my daughter told me to make this for today....I replied "Again?".
Well, not today dearie because mummy's schedule a bit tight.
